Viewing Art

When I look at paintings or sculptures, people tell me to ask myself this question: What do I feel when I see this artwork? However, there are times when those certain types of feeling cannot be put into words. For example, looking at The Last Supper made by Leonardo, I am only able to describe a religious feeling, but that is the extent to how I can describe the paint. Are there any other methods to help me describe how I feel when look at art?

Not only does it give you a religious feeling, it is a form of representation of his moment. An illision in an action of power and secretism. This picture shows to me a memorible moment that was purposely created.

I have to agree that Leonardo captured a moment in his work. It is a moment known by many. I think to understand what you feel when you look at this painting, you should consider the methods he used when creating this. Leonardo was great at using different perspectives in his work.

I thiink you can try to interpret art from a perspective of how the people in this piece seem to feel as well. Sometimes by looking at the emotions, demeanor of the indivduals or even the way an object is represented will make you tap into your personal feelings.
