I do like the focal of the image of the screaming man particularly because it has relevance to its gloomy setting and its the expressionist style really settles in with the emotion of being surprised or scared.
I really like the focal point of the screaming man because it has relevance to the particular setting of the gloomy dark colors. I think this image works really well as being portrayed in the expressionist style because it compliments the emotion the is being shown within the art
It is piece of work that represents the common anxiety of mankind. The figure appears to be in an emotional crisis. I can relate to such a feeling.

In the image you notice a combination of light colors and also dark colors, the image of the screaming man, however, makes you turn to the darker colors to give it a dreary look. Though the coloring makes it look like a lot is going on in the image, your eyes stay captured to the image of the man of the pain he is showing.

Wow! 200 million dollars! Well it was created in 1895 so it must be extremely valuable. But how do you afford that! That is so mind boggling.

Edvard Munch had severe nerve problems and some mental illness and were for a short period in a mental hospital, the only thing he did there was draw. Its understandable how he created this artwork representing his emotions. I love the way how he used both light and dark colors. It seems like a simple drawing, but yet it has so much meaning to it. But, $200 million dollars is too much, I think it should belong in a museum.
this is one of my favorite paintings. i love how gloomy it looks with the colors used. the bright and dark colors compliment each other amazingly. the way the man is screaming shows the expressionist feel to it.

The scream is one of the most unique paintings to me. I love the pastels and just how the painting tells a story. I wonder why the character is screaming for what reason. It is crazy how expensive it is getting auctioned for.
I'm not much of an art person but the first time I layed eyes on "The Scream" Painting, also known as "The Cry" was in the third grade. I think "The Scream"is an amazing painting that reflects great emomtion. Edvard Munch is an amazing artist and what most inspires me about his art is the tools and oils he uses for his work. According to (StudyArtHistory.com), Munch inspiration for this piece of art was him self. Munch claimed he was tired and ill and when he was looking across the fjord and he heard a scream and felt like screaming him self inspiring "The Scream". This piece of art reflects alot of psychological and emotional expressions, something many can relate to.

The transition between light and dark shows the seriousness of the painting. Showing the representation of a man being astonished.
Im personally biased towards pastel painting. I cant help but think of Van Gogh when i saw this. Its complex yet simple. The contrast of straight parrell running lines against curved waved ones really break the picture into two different dynamics.

I love this painting, I think the use of the pastels just brought the colors out right at me. I'm a pastel artist and just have an amazing time making my figures and designs come alive. There is such great details in the sunset and even the shadowing is excellent.

Whoa! 200 million! That's one of the highest prices a paintings ever been sold for! I read somewhere that Picasso's painting "La Reve", owned by Steve Wynn (owner of the Wynn Hotel in Vegas), was going to be sold for somewhere around 140 million dollars, but because he accidentally damaged it, the sale never went through. Its crazy to think about the amount of money these paintings are being sold for!
