Richard Serra: New Works at Gagosian Gallery

Brief article on NPR about the art of Richard Serra.

Serra's work may be psychological; it may be theatrical. But the real work that it does for us is philosophical. These are philosophical spaces that excite us by letting us remember what it is like to discover the world through active living.

I agree I would enjoy visiting one his works to see how much on the mind he plays.

You can see one at LACMA.

I was looking at some of his work. His sculptures are out of this world! I want to go to LACMA and see it in person.

It is really interesting to read that back in the days there was a public action to remove one of his sculptures. I wonder what it would be like to see his work.

I saw one oh his works at LACMA. Its called "Band" and its huge! When i walked in there I felt that I was in another place. Somewhere quiet and strange. I even stayed in there immersing myself in the art work. I was overwhelmed when I stood by it. I agree with Alva Noe when she said "The pieces are worlds and worlds afford opportunities for exploration, investigation, and learning". Good stuff.
