Jeff Jordan
Jeff Jordan is an American surrealist painter (not to be confused with the basketball player) located in Eureka California. He is primarily known for his album art work for experimental rock group "The Mars Volta" but has done plenty of other amazing works.
Jeff Jordan incorporates a rang of stylistic influences in his art work but his primary influence is surrealism. His paintings are known for their amazing backgrounds and fantastic characters ranging from giant chicks, fish with wings, a bird with an antenna coming out of its head, giant bugs ect, and then there are more abstract and geometric creatures or objects. Jeff Jordan creates his own worlds with his brush and there is no limit to the strange and amazing things you can find in one of his paintings. Another stylistic element i see in his paintings is in the way he paints people. It has a Latin feel and almost reminds me of a Frida Khalo or Diego Rivera. Good Examples of this are in his paintings "Big Mutant" and "Revelation".
Although Jeff Jordan's primary style involves realist rendering and Surrealist content, he also has done some actual collage work such as "Dwarf Dancing" and has done some amazing paintings with a collaged feel such as the cover for "Octahedron" (by The Mars Volta) and "Enigma". It looks like he may be starting some sculptures as well, he has one posted on his website and I am very exited to see what else he will come up with.

where is the article?
this looks like cartoon like those of tom and jerry
I definitely get that Latin feel you were talking about the people and background. It also reminds me of Frida Kahlo or Diego Rivera. Its very interesting how Jeff Jordan uses his art as a canvas for his imagination. To draw a certain object or animal as very large and the people as very small seems to me like a kind of inverse relationship. The human now is looking at the chick the way a chick would look at a human. People realistically are so much bigger than the small animals, so this is definitely an insight to how the chick feels when around bigger objects like humans.
Awesome how you picked up on that Nishat, I had always thought of it as putting the Man in the place of a worm that the chick is about to eat. Sort of a role reversal type thing. I love your idea though, its lways cool to see art from a new perspective.

You mean the one i wrote, or did i forget to link something?
When I look at this piece of art it looks realistic and believeable. I don't see a giant bird I just see a bird that looks normal. Love the way artists can depict these features.

the chick is bigger than a man in the picture.
U know, this picture gives like fresh and sensational feeling!
I like it!
Make Sure you guys check out his onther work on his website.
You know...I look at this and see randomness...maybe that is the point of it...not my cup of tea however - not a big modern art lover. But to look at it as a whole, he seems to be an amazing artist, and he has an imagination (which is a must). He has his own little world with these images, and it works. Again not my "thang" but I still enjoyed reading this and looking at his artwork...thank you very much - Jessica C.
I am not a big modern art lover. However, I can appreciate this artwork because like most art it has a hidden message behind it. I suppose the message would be for people not to under estimate animals. I like it!
