Connecting the Dots of Digital Art
Recently while looking at the Los Angeles Times online art section, this image really stood out to me. It is an exhibit that is being shown at the Subliminal Projects Gallery on Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles. It is the work of a street artist, Skullphone, and part of his examination of modern landscape.
This image describes a new way of art with the use of photoshop, scanners and other new ways of using technology to make art. Art like this is becoming more popular and well known. Such art is becoming a way for artists to expand their horizons and use graffiti, spray paint and other non traditional art techniques and supplies to make a piece that even more traditional artists before them could appreciate.

I think that this picture is really sentational. I saw it on the newspaper. This kind of arts are shown from magazine, newpaper and internet. When I saw this picture, I was really impressed. I like it!!
One of many good art museums in l.a.
I really enjoy this kind of work. Art has shown a progression from the traditional paintbrush or sculpture to now a more digitized and technological approach. They even have moving waterfalls with sound that you can find at the chinese restaurants. Gaming too has shown an incredible advancement in art. I am not saying that the traditional art work isn't around anymore, but it is definitely evolving. I can't wait to see what modern art will look like thirty years from now.
This artwork not only depicts modern art at its peak with new styles and concepts but demands attention with its interesting view of contemporary society. Skullphone really changed my view of "regular art" and gave me a different perspective of today's aspect of artwork. I also found the skull design next to the individual in the artpiece pretty interesting! Maybe it is to indicate the artist, since the name is SkullPhone?
I understand that this is considered modern art but I struggle with people calling this art. I feel like a computer is creating this not a person. I know the person is working on the computer but I feel it takes the creative edge out of it. I know this is a judgement of art but it is my personal feeling.
I kinda agree with Jennifer but this another way to expand the artist ability maybe the new age of art?

It is impressive how far art has come over the last 2000 years. Although I find these works impressive, many still view them as naïve pieces that go against the basis of society. People fail to realize that a tremendous amount of creativity and dedication goes into this works. Also, is some deem think “I could do that too,” then, why did not they do it before others!
I agree with Carlos, this image really shows how far art has come, from the ancient days of actually painting to now in a day and age of computer design and animations, that can be used to add a symbolic but unique way of making art. It will be very interesting to see over the years how much more art advances to the point where this art is considered old and out of touch with technology like we view other forms and techniques of art.

This artist realy kows what his passion is. I thik it's remarkable the way he does art; usig graffiti ad diffret ways to express themselves is great. Skullphoe's art is what makes him uique. He think's outside the box.
I find it humorous how art is defined these days. Not saying that this image isn't real art, just funny how art can be put together and created as an original creative piece of work.

It is a sense of imagination...what can I use differently to make a new statement. Today being a modern era we have seen just about everything...so this is a new technique...very interesting. I am not a modern art lover, but this is deffinetly cool...I am intrigued by this. Thank you for sharing this with us. - Jessica C.
