I stopped in yesterday to view Stephanie's displayed photos.
Upon viewing the photos, I could sense their was a deep, maybe even tragic cause to their existance. They are both pictures of one child with what appears to be a watery substance over them. Upon reading her statement about her art, my instinct was correct, but I was still a little shocked at the underlying meaning.
The other art displaed ranged from more photos, sketchings, and even a vey eccentric display including two old fashiioned sofa seats, naked Barbie dolls, and a pink bubble machine. Despite the distint differences of each piece, they were all constucted, or devloped by women who are currently attending or have attended Chaffey. And I personally found it very easy to relate to the pieces...I found myself thinking, "been there, done that, know how that feels"!
So, Ladies, I would reccomend stopping in to view these pieces...it feels reassuring to know we are not the only ones experiencing some of this girl stuff we suffer through :)
A part from the gallery visit, I did a little vintage shopping while in the Pomona Art Colony and found the shopkeepers to be very welcoming and hospitable...it was strange to actually be greeted at a store and have someone try to make small talk; I had forgotten what that felt like...it really added that much more "pleasantness" to my visit.
