Jaune Quick-To-See Smith

I noticed this flier in Fairbanks and thought people might be interested. We talked briefly in ART 205 about Jaune Quick-To-See Smith as an example of a contemporary Native American artist . She is apparently speaking at OSU later this week. Short notice, I know, but seems like a cool event.

April 6th, 2005 7pm in the C+E Auditorium, LaSells Stewart Center. It says it's free to everyone.

Sounds like she'll be discussing art as a political tool...should be interesting.

Dr. Barbara Loeb has organized this event. I will not be able to attend, but I highly recommend going. Some of us will be having lunch with the artist on Wednesday. I'll pass along any interesting information. Here is a website with some examples of Jaune Quick-To-See Smith's artwork.

We are experiencing a true blossoming of the department... so many good events. However, can't leave out the routine details, such as first Thursday. Anyone going? Dinner?

Justin, explain please. What is this "first Thursday" that you speak of? PS did you want a ride to the Warhol show?
